Question 1:
Which of the following commands will display the OSPF network type running on your Cisco router's Serial0 interface?
A. show ip ospf neighbor
B. show ip ospf networks
C. show ip ospf int serial 0
D. show ip ospf
Question 2:
In the previous OSPF practice exam, we talked about configuring OSPF on a hub-and-spoke network. If you decide a certain router should become the DR of that segment, what's the recommended way of doing that?
A. Use the ip ospf priority command on the non-DR routers
B. Use the ip ospf priority command on the router you want to have elected the DR
C. Use the router-id command on the non-DR routers
D. Use the router-id command on the router that should become the DR
Question 3:
What do OSPF routers exchange that allows each router to build their routing tables?
A. routing update packets
B. LSAs
C. Hello packets
D. Dijkstra packets
Question 4:
If a router is neither a DR nor a BDR for a particular OSPF segment, what is its role?
Question 5:
Which of the following OSPF network types does not elect a DR nor a BDR by default?
A. point-to-point
B. broadcast
C. NBMA
D. point-to-multipoint
Question 6:
What term is used in OSPF to refer to a route metric?
Question 7:
You just hard coded a router's OSPF RID. What do you have to do for it to take effect?
A. As usual, nothing - globally configured commands take effect immediately.
B. Reload the router.
C. Clear the OSPF processes.
D. Run the clear ip ospf rid command.

Answers:
1. "C". For that information, you'll need the show ip ospf interface command followed by the interface type and number.
2. "A". It sounds odd, but for a given router in a hub-and-spoke network to become the DR, don't raise the OSPF interface priority of that router -- lower the OSPF interface priority of the other routers.
Take this OSPF practice exam to reinforce your knowledge of which router or routers should fill that role in a hub-and-spoke network!
3. "B". OSPF routers exchange LSAs, and the OSPF algorithm uses the contents of those LSAs to build the routing table.
4. If an OSPF router isn't the DR or BDR for a given segment, it's a "DROTHER". You'll see that term in the output of show ip ospf neighbor.
5. "A, D". Neither point-to-point nor point-to-multipoint OSPF networks elect DRs or BDRs.
6. OSPF route metrics are referred to as cost.
7. "B, C". You've got to either clear the OSPF processes or reload the router.
