Answers:

1. "B". RED and WRED both take advantage of TCP's retransmission behavior, and are both more effective when the traffic in question is TCP-based.

2. "A, C". Jitter is definitely an issue with voice and video, and can be addressed through the proper application of Quality of Service.

3. "A, C". WRED detects and addresses congestion before the queue is filled, and can use both CoS and IP Precedence to decide what traffic to drop.

4. "B, C". RED uses Tail Drop, and packets are dropped off the "tail" of the queue - as the packets attempt to enter the queue.

5. When the data senders slow their transmission rate as a result of dropped segments, then accelerate that rate as packet drop slows, and then slow down again when segments are again dropped, that's Global Synchronization.

6. "C". Voice and video are usually assigned a Class Selector value of 5 (101 in binary). The two higher values, 110 and 111, are reserved for network operation traffic.

7. RSVP creates a path for priority traffic, and the path is created and reserved in advance of its actual use.
