CCNP ROUTE Practice Exam And Video:

EIGRP Short Answer Challenge

Bulldogs, one of the best ways to be really ready for Cisco exam success is working with short answer questions ...

... because after those, multiple choice questions seem easy!

This is the first in a new series of short answer challenges for the CCNP ROUTE exam, so be sure to bookmark my CCNP ROUTE Tutorials page and visit often!

Let's get to the questions! (Answers are at the bottom of the page.)

1. Name the reliable EIGRP packet types.

2. You knew this was coming - name the UNreliable EIGRP packet types!

3. What command can be used to adjust the percentage of overall bandwidth used by EIGRP?

Bonus question: Exactly where in the configuration should you configure that command?

4. What is the default for the value discussed in Question 3?

5. If you configure an EIGRP router as stub and do not enter anything beyond the eigrp stub command, what kind of route(s) will that stub router be allowed to advertise?

Answers right after this brief, important message -- and if you prefer to take the exam in video format, here you are!

And now.. the answers!

1. The EIGRP packet types Update, Query, and Reply are all "reliable".

2. We can't have EIGRP without Hello and Ack packets, but they're officially considered "unreliable".

3. You can use the ip bandwidth-percent eigrp command to change the value, and that command is configured at the interface leve.

4. By default, EIGRP can use up to 50% of an interface's available bandwidth.

5. By default, an EIGRP stub router can advertise directly connected networks and summary routes back to the hub.
